Housework Saturday

Today we were SUPER productive! Dad, Brendan, and Tyler installed the lights in our dining room, while I cut, hemmed and ironed new curtains. We finished painting the dining room, hung the curtians, got our family tree hung, Tyler's car got an oil change, went to Home Depot twice, cleaned up, and did the laundry! Whew! I don't know about you.....but I'm beat. We are looking forward to the week, Tyler turns the big 2-7! His parents will be here on Thursday and we are so excited because they haven't seen our house yet!

Peepers Beware! You will no longer be able to spy on the Rainey's at night! To come....curtain ties. (They are in the garage drying.)

Our new fireplace decor!

Here it is upclose (don't look too closely, only two of the frames have our pics in it.....gotta find more to put in there.)

Sayonara!

Well, this week was fun and productive! Tyler and I had a very nice date night on Wednesday courtesy of his employer! Tyler graduated from his leadership program at the Reata in downtown Fort Worth. Yes folks, the Reata. I love excuses to get all dressed up! We were served gigantic steaks with mashed potatoes and green beans that were out of this world, a salad with goat cheese (yum!) and molten chocolate lava cake for dessert. Let me tell you this midwestern farmer's daughter loved every bite!

                                                       Don't we look Purdy! :-)

Last saturday we FINALLY brought over the rest of our furniture from the apartment and my mom helped me get the living room furniture arranged to that it is cozy! In all the hustle and bustle of the the epic Monday Move (trying to cram the move in before a storm (that never came hit) we lost the screws for our bed.......AND.....since it is an IKEA product, we can't get anymore. Which, means....frustration and a need to improvise, since I'm not about to buy a new bed. Good thing my husband is an engineer and my dad is Mr. Fixit! The week ended with spending time with some good friends and a baseball game! Go Rangers! We went to game two of the Rangers-Rockies series with the Peaches (Mr. Peach had NEVER been to a game before, so this was exciting!) We lost and the game was almost a complete wash, except for a very exciting inning with several homeruns. But we still managed to have a good time!

The Raineys and the Peaches in the smart seats! (Very top in the shade with a breeze!)

Even Captain was there! (Sorry it's sideways, I can't figure out how to rotate the pic)

So, what's next for the Rainey 2? Well......I start my new job tomorrow, which is exciting, and operation Make Room for Baby officially begins on Tuesday. Now before you all get excited, we are not in the "trying-to-have-a-baby-phase" yet. We are in the beginning stages of making room for another person in our lives financially, emotionally, and physically. So, stay tuned!

New

A song from my beloved Steven Curtis Chapman is playing through my head right now. It's called The Change, and in it he quotes 2 Corinthians 5:12 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation and old has gone and new has come." There has been some exciting news in the Rainey household this month and lots of NEW things! First! My grandpa LaValle had his heart check up the other day and the doctor said he couldn't believe how well he was doing considering all he has been through since January! In March we had that whole leave in the middle of the night because he was on life support ordeal and he has pretty much fully recovered. Praise God! April saw the birth of my good friends from Baton Rouge's first kiddo, shout out to Miss Palmer Laney! And May saw the birth of our good friends from Fort Worth's second kiddo, shout out to Mr. Micah Alexander!I have pics of the absolutely adorable sun hats I made them! Also! Tyler's sister Chelsea graduated (what! what!) from Southwest Oklahoma State University! May also brought some awesome changes for our small little family of two. We are in the process of moving. Don't worry. We aren't going too far. About 20 minutes south of our current location. Moving in itself isn't THAT exciting, but moving into our very own HOUSE is! We. Bought. A. House. Holy Smokes! I can't even believe I'm typing this! We have spent all of today and last Wednesday painting trying to get it ready to move in. Let me just tell you, after working four days this week at work, and then working all day on your days off.......this girl is TIRED! We hope to be mostly completed with the move next week. Speaking of work, after much debate with myself, two days before we closed on the house I accepted a job off at a hospital 10 minutes from our house. So, as of Wednesday this week, I will no longer be an employee of Baylor. It is very hard to believe that it is actually happening, and I will miss my co-workers dearly, but Tyler and I believe it will be best for our family as it grows. Tyler also will have a job change, he isn't leaving his employer, just moving to a new project! Super excited for him! Wow......can you say overwhelming? New babies (not mine!), new house, new job! God has truely blessed us richly. If you would have asked me in January if I thought all this would have happened, I would have said no. God is faithful to the faithful! Check out some pics below! Please come visit us! But, give us a couple of weeks to get settled!

Sun hat for Palmer and Micah! Isn't it so cute! A little big though.....the pattern said it was for an infant. Not so much. Oh well, they can wear it next year too! ;-)

The front of our house!

We now take this moment to offer a silly pic of the Bjerke family on a typical ladder golf day. Yes, that is mom climbing up the tree to get the balls out!

This is a pic from the back door looking to the front of the house. Note: the furniture in this pic and the following ones is not ours.
